Loving your neighbor by resisting the State together

What if people disobeyed the immoral decrees and commands of other people (who call themselves 'government' and call their decrees 'laws'), on taxes, regulations, licensing, or anything at all, and simply and peacefully lived life honoring only the only moral law, which is summarized as "do not steal".

Well, this is the correct and moral way to live but the risk that they will brutalized, maimed, caged or killed by the agents of the afore-mentioned self-styled 'government' is high. Therefore, an important plank in the fight for a decent civil society with natural rightful liberty is the idea that one must show up and support those who are taking these risks.

The pictures above are from 10 years ago -- from the Bundy ranch standoff.

Lovers of liberty, truth, peace, justice and the natural rights of men, whether here in America, or anywhere else in the world, should never forget the events surrounding these men and these days. After the cowardly State thugs' embarrassing defeat in this bloodless action as well as in the State's own kangaroo court later, the State still managed to exact vengeance two years later, and killed one of the resistors in the follow-up action two years later. Decent human beings everywhere will hold the memory of Lavoy Finicum (pictured below) tenderly and lovingly in their hearts forever.

These actions serve as a template of what well-intentioned decent people should do, more frequently and more consistently, in support of their neighbors and friends and family, as the State increases its depradations and violence.

Every person ought to have the courage to disobey.

If not that, the courage to show up (even unarmed) to resist enforcement actions against those who disobey.

And, if not that, regular condemnation of the State in general.

And, if not that, the decency to shut up and not get in the way of those fighting the good fight.

And, if not that, the honesty and integrity to self-reflect and evaluate where one's moral compass completely derailed.

Sort:

The weirdest part of the Bundy Ranch standoff was that both sides were waving the same flag. As for Finicum, anyone can see it was an ambush by government agents planning to execute someone. They lied about what happened, and claimed a man who got out with his hands up after the cops started shooting was the aggressor. The media was complicit in an attempted cover-up.

The Bundy side at least had a bunch of flags -- it takes a while to gradually wean off symbols and banners, that one spent a lifetime venerating.
