RE: My Indie Game Post Mortem

in #business7 years ago

Ah that looks like a lot of intense fun! I love that general style of incoming waves of aliens (or whatever) that you have to annihilate, I had a game similar to this on the Gameboy growing up that I loved (not sure what it was called as it was on a pirated game cartridge we bought on a family vacation in Hong Kong that did not have any English language characters and was full of a ton of games). Love the powerups for weapons variation. I had a similar experience with sales and what not self publishing an adventure for pen and paper RPGs, the community building and promotional aspects are at least as important as the actual quality of the product. Maybe more so if some minimum quality bar is passed (no amount of community and promotion can save something that is absolute shit of course). Looking forward to seeing what you do with this knowledge that you gained! Planning on making another game any time soon? LOL

Yes, I agree to be featured. Feel free to use any images. Thank you for your comments and the nomination. It's interesting that you had a similar experience with the RPG. I've been tossing a few ideas around with an artist for my next game, but haven't done much yet other than concept and prototype. I'll probably do a few posts about the prototype, maybe the community can help me land on an idea :) That might be an interesting experiment.

Hi Brandon, the Author Showcase post featuring this post is up :)
