Wonderful story. I have a similar approach to life, when I travel I never hassle to get the lowest price possible on markets. I give what I feel is a fair exchange, which is often more than the expected price.
Similarly, when I bought my house a few years ago, during the negotiation phase I offered a price 6k higher than I knew they would accept just because that price was a number that I preferred numerologically. My real-estate agent thought I was nuts, but I felt happy with the price and so did the sellers I hope.
