Yes, starting a successful business is very difficult, it's often costly and time consuming. I disagree about the love part of things. This is the very problem, too many people start businesses for the love of something. Sucessful business should be and are about profit. I love cooking, I'd never open up a restaurant because there is too much competition and a high chance of failure. Having a realistic business plan is the key to success, love is reserved for my family, friends and hobbies. That being said having a hobby that can turn a profit is great but at some point it will cease being a hobby.
