Well, if you didn’t know it by now, you can go ahead and open up a business page here on Steemit.com!
That’s right!
HOW?
Well here are some of the services that make it possible for you to open up a second account on Steemit.com:
0.5 STEEM
& 65,000 Vests
using this link:
https://v2.steemconnect.com/accounts/create
& you can open up an account in a matter of seconds!
Then again, there are other services out there that you may want to use,
i.e.
https://rawgit.com/msg768/mysteemit/master/register.html
User for contact is @msg768
Total cost is 8 STEEM/ new account.
Or
Have a read of this post:
https://steemit.com/anonsteem/@zeartul/need-another-steemit-account-for-your-self-or-friend-anonsteem-baby
If nothing has changed since then, the price was 10STEEM/new account.
Note: Listed prices are subject to change as per the costs involved with registering user accounts on the blockchain.
So now that we have that all sorted out, what about opening up a business page here on Steemit.
Well the page needs to tell people what your business is about, where it is and so on.
So in other words, use a letter head with a footer for all your posts.
OK, so now we have that all sorted out, what about the page?
Maybe it would be easier to state WHAT NOT TO DO:
1- Do NOT create a personal profile for your business page.
This is a social network and apply the knowledge and lessons learned elsewhere here and do not be “one of those” who has to learn the hard way.
2- Unlike some other social sites, here on Steemit you cannot assign roles to people/other users.
You are the person who has to manage the page.
So make sure that it is done properly. There is no reason why other people such as employees cannot have their own personal profiles here on Steemit and your company/business page resteems the relevant posts!
Very straight forwards and avoids those “oops I did it again” moments like of Fbook business pages where employees have posting roles!
3- Make sure your avatar/user picture is recognizable, and your page header nice and simple with a clear “visual” message, make it engaging and inviting!
4- Remember, use the experience gained from other social networks. On most business pages, photos and videos seem to work best.
So go with it, use that information to your advantage.
5- Find out what times your posts are getting the best results. This may take a little bit of time, bit at least on Steemit you won’t have any false info coming your way.
Here is a link to a post on the topic, with basic instructions and a link to the tool that shall help you with this:
https://steemit.com/minnows/@jackmiller/found-yet-another-great-tool-for-us-minnows-best-time-to-publish
6- ALWAYS use the relevant TAGs, and try to localize at least one of them. i.e. “Houston” , that way you are ensuring that the right audience comes across your pages.
Buying or selling something, then one of your tags would have to be “classifieds”
Remember, you have 5 tags that you can use, use them wisely.
7- Decide whether or not to open up a chat room for your page. If you decide to do this then ensure that you have employees who can manage this for you. Yes, in the official Steemit Chat service you can as “the owner of the chat room” assign roles to other users.
8- ALWAYS HAVE EVERYONE PROMOTE YOUR PAGE ON ALL APPROPRIATE MEDIA THAT IS AVAILABLE!
USE OTHER SOCIAL NETWORKS!
USE IT WHILE IT LASTS, BECAUSE IT WOULDN’T SURPRISE ME IF SOME OF THEM DISSALOW LINKS TO STEEMIT!
Have your employees spread the word, make Steemit your home turf for doing business!
Everything from marketing, to portfolios all the way to chat support services and direct sales and hiring!
STEEMIT IS THE PLATFORM THAT CAN SET YOU APART FROM THE “WANNA BE’s”!
So there it is, go ahead and do it!
What are you waiting for.
Missed out on the .com opportunities, missed out on the other opportunities in the past.....
good to know, could be a good deal create an account for business.
Yes Sir,
It is the case with ALL of the other social networks out there, that business and personal pages should be kept separate if one wants to ensure a successful and professional online presence.
Feel free to google the topic, you shall see that what I am lobbying for is that us existing Steemians start realizing all the potential that we have here.
What we might feel like as if we missed out on, elsewhere, here on Steemit is NOW REALITY... IT IS UP FOR GRABS!
So make it happen, don't let it happen again, that is, don't let yourself be saying in a few months/years time "man, I should have this or that...blah blah"
I'm just being realistic.
Nothing more nor less than realistic.
the bad thing is that i should do everytime "log in" - "log out " repeat every single time.
On facebook you can switch just by clicking once on a button.
I use the evil Chrome browser from Google, and I'm stuck in it for this exact reason. As a freelancer who works with many clients and all their accounts, it's important for me not to have to log in and log out of everything all the time. Not to mention I wouldn't be able to keep my finger on the pulse of my own networks.
Chrome has a feature called Chrome Profiles that allows you to create separate instances of Chrome where you can log in to different accounts. When I'm doing client work, I almost always have that client's Chrome Profile open in addition to my own.
Here's the info on how it works - https://support.google.com/chrome/answer/2364824?co=GENIE.Platform%3DDesktop&hl=en
As soon as another browser gets this, I'm out of Chrome.
Lets not forget that it took Fbook over 5 years to figure things like that out.
So if there isn't already someone here working on it, you could very well write up a post on it!
Likewise I believe that you could have like Explorer open at the same time as Firefox and so on.
So that would be like 2 or 3 users up at the same time until one of the people in the programming side of things makes it possible to use extra accounts as "pages" (like of Fbook).
Just a technicality as far as I see it.
Improvise, overcome and adapt!
Do this and you are a money maker, not just a dreamer, but a person who makes dreams come true!
We've seen others do it on Fbook and other networks, why not be one of them,... the people who made it rich using what was in front of them.....
AN OPPORTUNITY!

And dear marketers! Please try to create VALUE instead of vague advertisements!
The fact I like in Steemit that it is not full of unasked/unrelevant advertisements! If you write interesting articles, give advice, share experiences that is always welcome.
This is an interesting idea. I will be thinking this over and considering whether or not I can offer value by creating an additional page for my business.
What I always seem to not do well is to highlight the fact that all of the lessons have already been learned on other social networking sites, we can easily without any doubt say that Fbook and Twitter were where we saw the bulk of the changes on both sides of the screen.
Basically, what I am trying to highlight is the fact that none of us have to reinvent the wheel, it has already been done, especially when it comes to using social networks as business platforms.
No matter what that business may be, all the branches have been on social networks before and experinemted with various approaches and marketing "tricks" and the ones that worked, worked, the ones that failed, well, they failed.
Human nature hasn't changed, nor has the idea of a social network, so lets not make the same mistakes people made in the past when social networks were just infants.
We here have that opportunity and not to even go down the road of "available names", that is just a gold mine!
I won't even try to talk about that, because I can see what may happen if some vultures smell that prey.
I hear what you are saying.
In giving this more thought with a fresher brain today, I think this IS my business account, and I need to consider if I have anything to offer personally to warrant a personal account.
I have been thinking about writing some more personal posts. I did this some early on, but found better success with writing tutorials.
I think this is probably something that I will do.
Not being among the vultures you speak of sure makes us vulnerable, doesn't it?
I'd be lying if I didn't enjoy the rewards that Steemit has to offer. However, I'm equally here for the writing. Writing is like blood-letting for me, and if no one ever paid me a dime or read another word, I would still have to do it.
I think if we non-vulture types so our part, then Steemit will self-police, self-regulate, and self-cull the riff raff.
Nice thanks for sharing this!!! Is it different from a personal page in terms of features and stuff? I hope YOU have a WONDERFUL day! Following YOU!!
Cool post
I like your post.
