You also need to get your keywords right: there may not be many people searching this niche just yet, but targeting the right keywords that they are looking for will give your traffic a massive boost. It’s also worth considering broader keyword reach – this is particularly important if you’re in a sub-niche, where you can collect extra traffic from the broader top-level niche.

It’s also worth using paid advertising to bring in yet more visitors. Over time, your goal is to create a website that is a comprehensive resource for people interested in your niche, making it the default place they go for information.

It’s a tough job, but get it right, and you can enjoy a significant income, particularly if your gamble pays off and the niche explodes overnight – after all, who eve heard of fidget spinners a year ago?
