A lot of marketers simply don’t use Google+. Let’s face it, after the huge fanfare of its unveiling, it has kind of disappeared into the background, overshadowed by its bigger, more colorful, and popular cousins.

Try as it might, Google just doesn’t have much luck trying to create its own systems in some areas, and Google+ is one of those areas. However, while it’s not going to win any prizes for having good looks or a great active user base, it does have one very powerful thing that will benefit everyone.

That’s your SEO.

It’s hardly surprising that using Google’s social media site has awesome SEO benefits. Your content is indexed almost immediately, showing in search results quicker than any other method – I’m talking minutes or hours, rather than weeks.

In other words, nobody’s going to see your blog post that you shared on Google+, but they will find it a lot quicker in the search engine.

So while you don’t really need to worry about creating a careful content strategy here, ignore this quiet part of the internet at your peril.

That’s the end of this series, and you’re now pretty much a pro when it comes to knowing the difference between the biggest social media sites on the planet today and how to leverage them to maximize your profits and with the time spent.

All of this is subject to change, and in five years, the landscape could look very different to it does today. It’s wise to keep a close eye on developments in this space and tailor your approach accordingly, as this will give you the best results and keep you in the front line.
