Sometimes both terms are mistakenly used like being the same, but they are not. However, both entrepreneurs and managers are needed to develop a business.
Here I want to highlight some fundamental differences between an entrepreneur and a manager and their relevance to the entrepreneurial process of a business.
The behavior
The entrepreneurial style is very demanding, leaving a little room for errors. The entrepreneur wants to control his own life, while a manager comes to help when the entrepreneur needs it. The manager likes authority and develops everything based on the laws of the country.
Business development
The entrepreneurs are renowned for their ability to react quickly and efficiently to new business opportunities. This feature is essential for a new business.
The professional manager is distinguished by strategic planning in the medium and long term, leading to a controlled growth of the company.
Decisions
The entrepreneur usually takes decisions alone, even those critical to his business, based on his own insights.
The manager usually takes decisions after collecting detailed information from experts, inside or outside of the company.
Attitude towards money.
Although some people say entrepreneurs are led by the desire for money and power, I think that entrepreneurs are led by a desire for success rather than power.
The manager of a business defines his goals only in financial terms, acting objectively.
In conclusion, there is a clear difference between an entrepreneur and a manager. Although I am studying management, I think I have that entrepreneur spirit, and I am trying to combine both of them, to act as a true professional manager running his own business.
It’s not about ideas. It’s about making ideas happen and Entrepreneur surely make it happen
That was a really great post to read thanks for sharing your ideas had a great time reading it :)
Thank you!
"I think that entrepreneurs are led by a desire for success rather than power." That is a very precise notice. And rewards usually come after you being successful :) So they both work together very well :)
Thank you!
Seems like you are very good in management))) You chose the right profession!
Thank you!
To me, main difference between an entrepreneur and everyone else:
The entrepreneur keeps working on it without knowing if it's going to make any money.
Sounds crazy? Of course it. Sounds scary? Why yes. Sounds abnormal? It's by far from normal.
If you want non-crazy, non-scary, normal and super safe, then get a job.
You are right! I hate jobs
Haha hate it or not, it can help society and people.
In my opinion. this is a great management material for business people
@jwolf , I am happy with your writing.
Thank you!
Its really i need. This is important information. Now i undurstood whats different interpreneur amd manager meaning. Thanks for support me back to my blog @maulanailham
Thank you!
wow i am very proud of you my friend @ jworf and i feel you really try to be the best, greetings from me for you and success always for your goals..i like you
Thank you!
I think entrepreneur is owner of the business and manager is an employee.
Yes, something like that
Agreed, entrepreneurs and managers are two different entities, my question is this, can an entrepreneur be a manager due to circumstances or vice versa?.... Beautiful piece of work, nicely written....
Yes, I think they can!
Thank you!
Very grateful to tell the business. You have given us good information.
Thank you!
I have concluded that we can become managers if we learn the skill of management but being an Entrepreneur is the matter of passion and spirit . @jwolf I agree with you that we have to combine both of them to become successful ultimately.
Thank you!
So the entrepreneur is more flexible than the manager, and he is prone to break the the manager's rules and strategic planning whenever a new business opportunity exists. The manager will have a bad headache and the new decision will be solely taken by the entrepreneur without any consultation!
Poor manager! He'll have to adapt very quickly to changes.
Cheers.
Yup! Thanks for the comment!
An interesting post. There is a need for entrepreneurs in my country (South Africa) where there is a lack of jobs and a large untrained labour pool. There is a need for business education as well training in the technical fields. When I look to the future, things don't look so rosy.
Well, I hope soon your country will see prosperity from this point of view!
I'll just leave this here.
This has no connection with my post.
It does, a manager sits at the back and uses rules and dictation to push employees in a direction where as an entrepreneur uses leadership to guide workers to a goal, blazing the trail ahead. Perhaps it is not labeled 'manager' and 'entrepreneur' but the sentiment is on point.
You can't compare manager with boss or entrepreneur. That is actually a bullshit photo made to show how some bosses are acting .. bla bla
hhahah. i'm Agree
It's not relevant to talk about entrepreneurs and managers as they basically do not have the same focus into a business. It is like you compare lemon with lemonade. I hope you got the difference!
If the owner of the business (the entrepreneur) is the same person with the manager why we should compare those skills, we are not talking about dissociating identity, right? If the owner has no management skills, then he'll employ a manager and... surprise there is a new role in that business.
The studies about boss versus leader are more than pertinent and that picture you called "a bullshit" is the cruel truth of our reality beyond all the SF theories about the power of the team management.
As well, it is important to mention in which environment it fits your sketch. I think it would be more interesting to share with us your experiences with entrepreneurs, managers, bosses, and leaders from Romania and abroad.
Tell us which one talked to you, gave you a hand when you really need. What did you learn from their behaviours, decisions, attitudes towards money?Well, in my opinion, @themadgoat has totally right.
Cheers!
Well, firstly I want to thank you for your comment. I know they can be the same person but if they are different I just compared them, I know that photo is true because a boss just don't care about the workers but a leader helps everyone and I called it bullshit just because I am tired of it and I am thinking it has no relevance with my post.
I know maybe I didn't use well my words and in which situation we should compare them.
I am only 21 years old and I had contact only online with some entrepreneurs & 'leaders' who helped me a lot!
This difference is very real and many people do not realize it
Yup.
I agree with all you typed. And nice image of the day :)
I think, as an entrepreneur, you have to see the unlimited amount of potential but concentrate on your day and just keep building.
Greet post

I am working as manager so I went through you post deeply.
