As many as 15,000 iPhones smuggled in Drones

The number of smuggled iPhone managed to be confiscated by the Chinese Customs has reached 15,000 units, valued at 79 million US dollars (around Rp 1.1 trillion). The 26 suspects used a drone to fly two 200m long cables on the border to send some illegal reconditioned iPhones.
These smugglers launched their action in the middle of the night. They use small bags containing more than 10 iPhones in each bag. These bags are then sent over a cable that has been stretched by the drone earlier.
"This is the first case found in China that drones are used for cross-border smuggling crimes," the local police said, as quoted by KompasTekno from Reuters on Monday (2/4/2018)
