Using the right channels

in #business7 years ago

Besides getting the messaging right we also need to consider the channels we will use to get that messaging to our potential customers.

In this technological era we are no longer simply bound by physical channels, there are also a number of e-commerce channels also available through which we can sell and disperse our message.

Initially we should probably limit our selves to one physical channel and on e-commerce channel as we start up. This will prevent us from being too distracted and potentially bogged down in all the many options available. As the business grows and becomes more established then we can add new channels as appropriate.

Below are some examples of channels:

Physical Sales channels:

  • Direct sales - we sell direct to the public
  • Distributor or wholesales - we sell in bulk to bulk sellers
  • Retailer - we sell to others that sell to the public

E-commerce sales channels

  • website - we sell from our own web site
  • online store - we sell our product online along with other businesses
  • mobile app - we sell to users inside an app

The secret to getting our message across is to be creative and make sure that no matter what channel we are using we can always grab our potential customers attention.

Good advice as always, it's a tough decision for those who sell products about whether to maximize their exposure with Amazon but take a hit on their margins.

Good advice as always , thx.

what are we talking about here?, really don't get it.

I am in total consonance with your submissions on channels, especially your last sentence:

The secret to getting our message across is to be creative and make sure that no matter what channel we are using we can always grab our potential customers attention.

I'll love to add, however, that the peculiarities of your location must be taken into cognisance in choosing or prioritising marketing channels. For example, in my country Nigeria, Personal Selling is still a key marketing channel that cannot be disregarded if a successful marketing plan is to be effected.

Simple language, great idea. That's your post. Resteemed. Upvoted.

Effective communication, key to reaching potential customers. Great work

this is a really great masterpiece. we really admire you my friend, if possible ?! I will draw and absorb a little knowledge from you.

thanks to this wonderful advise it will help the steemians community

I am constantly having 500 channels going on, after changing my mindset and focusing on one or two channels at a time my business has grown rapidly.

I must add that I solidly believe that most business is moving towards an 95% online presence, so that will be my focus for this year. #businessgoals2018
