It's the Era of Technology- The Blockchain; the most distruptive technology since the internet and it would be disrepectful if we all fail to acknowledge the impact this technologies have on our lives.
Nigerian startups in 2017 recieved more funding than their South African counterparts, a dream finally coming through as other African countries are rising to the ranks of Tech-Giants.
Joining Nigeria and South Africa is kenya at third position. Overall, African Startups recieved $195 Million in venture funding- 51% up from 2016 as Disrupt Africa Reported, leading in all business categories is Fintech!
The World is in a New era, the era where finance would fuse with Mobile. Latest is the Opera in-browser payement system and amalgam of many Fintech solutions engineered for the mobile African Citizens mainly, Fintech would continue to see steady growth with this initiatives.
We have experienced these Fintech Startups recieving excess of $100 Milliom in venture funding since 2015. This is a progress made; from %0 to Nearly $200 Million!
But it would be really catalytic when African Startups could raise a cumulative $500 Million in a year; hopefully by 2020!
