A great post, thanks for sharing.
Although I 100% agree with all the points made (Steve Jobs was a master at delivering presentations), when I reflect on those talks there is an underlying theme (that I believe helped enormously) in that......... each product unveiled was absolutely frickin awesome!
Think about the intro of the ipod, mac book air, iPhone and ipad. These had me (and millions of others) salivating!
Which brings me to the conclusion, yes absolutely follow the tips and presentation strategies of Mr Jobs, but it doesn't half help make an impact when you've got world changing products like he had to deliver the knock out presentation blow...
...Big reveals that seem to be sadly lacking since he's gone, or am I over-egging it...?
I agree. Since his passing, the new reveals are, well, just not "Steve" enough.
Could it be we're benchmarking the future product launches to what he has done? Were the other presenters trying to hard to copy him, instead of emulating? Could it be they dared not push the envelope too far, to respect Steve's work?
Justification, or just excuses?
I think as we grow old, we can reflect, tell your grand kids, that we lived during the time of giants. The time of Musks, Jobs, Gates, Zuckerbergs. Oh, and Scotts and Larimers too!
Ha! Indeed, real Titans of the Tech world :)
