- Delivery costs (in relation to weight and dimensions)
- Price per piece
- Price for logo per piece (if you have a logo/brand)
Psychologically, it is mandatory to call the price BEFORE the supplier can call it. That’s the „anchor point“. The supplier will subconsciously orientate themselves to it. You can read this effect online. Go for it. It is a very powerful strategy.
Choose a good anchor point!
Do your homework and research the costs for delivery and prices for the products from other suppliers. You should talk with your partner and mention in the negotiations that you just are the negotiator and your partner has to give the OK for the deal.
Firstly, you should buy a small amount of the product. Say to them that you want to buy more after the test with this product is a success when the quality of the product is OK. He / She will then check for the quality without extra costs. Be polite but do not step back from your target price.
When you call for 6$ per piece and on the suppliers' page the price is 9$, it is, of course, OK when you get the deal for 7$. And after every buying cycle try to get it cheaper and cheaper.
Ask for the HS-Code, too. You will need it for the customs duty.
Then you need the dimensions and weight of the packed product and the package which will be sent to you. It is needed for your delivery plan in the near future.
You can write with the supplier on Alibaba.com or they will ask you for another messenger, e.g. WhatsApp.
