Hey gang this is a new post in my Power Positioning series.
In today's world of a billion options for whatever you want, how in the world do you build brand loyalty?
One of the things I learned over the years is that people like doing business with real people. What I mean by that, is they like people who take the time to talk to them … one on one …you know, those who are down with keepin it real.
Down to earth.
People who build relationships. As an acquaintance of mine said on the phone recently, "I don't do deals with people I don't know. It's all about relationships …."
When it comes to building relationships with clients/customers, learn to shut up and listen. They don't want to be talked at. People want to be heard.
Acknowledge them, their concerns. Carry on conversations with them. Communicate. Inform. Follow-up after sales. Make sure potential problems are addressed before they pop up. Give them a call. E-mail them. Make sure they're happy with their purchase.
Don't let things be a "one off and die."
See what your customers/clients suggest. Is there a service or product you could be offering that they need/want that you're not? If so, get off your rear and create that product or start providing that service (provided it's related to your overall purpose).
They will come back to you over and again, and they will start recommending you to others. They will be raving fans. They'll become an essential element in your marketing.
That's loyalty.
