The Digital “Paper”

in #busy5 years ago (edited)

Using paints each day for months made me feel a little tired today. Setting up each day and then packing it up is sometimes more exhausting to me than painting itself. Fortunately I remembered of the app Paper by 53 which I have on my phone since years now.

It is genuinely one of the most organised and neat apps for artists/illustrators/designers etc and can easily be used. What I love most is the app is designed keeping the idea of sketchbooks in mind. So every section of a page and every page itself can be planned and contained safely until you remove it yourself.

Some examples of the type of work which many artists share in the common space of this app.

These are the sample sketchbooks by default where a user can make more addition and an infinite collections of books/journals/ideas -whatever you can imagine.

Few years ago there were basic pen tools and colors (the non-pro version) which enabled good illustration styles. Today I saw plenty of additions and the most epic one was the canvas options! The options of grids, story boards, dotted pages nearly made me jump from excitement! I tested out using one of the page styles below and used the “smudge” tool for blending in the colors. Which was not present before.
