Social media giant Facebook is building a team with Blockchain. The team is said to be conducting a blockchain survey and operating within a vision that is dedicated to exploring this technology.
The name that will take place at the beginning of the initiative is quite familiar. David Marcus, who has served as vice president of the company for Messenger application, will be the leader of the Blockchain team.
David Marcus was at the head of PayPal in previous years.
"It's time for a new challenge."
Marcus made an announcement yesterday on the Facebook page, using the following words:
After four years of Messenger's rise, I decided it was time for a new challenge. Starting from the beginning I build a small group on Facebook to discover how best to use Blockchain technology.
Facebook will include a small number of people in the Blockchain team
A recode from Recode says that the team will have fewer members than a flat. Members are also told that Facebook will be made up of individuals from the engineering and product division of the Instagram unit.
At this stage, the full work to be carried out by the new team is not fully understood. The lukewarm news is pointing to a remarkable move by the social media giant.
Social media giant is banned from ICO ads, Blockchain is open on the idea
This development follows a statement made by the former PayPal president, who also joined the Coinbase executive board last year on the crypto money market. Facebook Messenger is known to be open to embracing crypto money payments so that the Blockchain community can fix any problems.
Facebook has shown in a sense that the underlying technology of crypto money is not really closed with the Blockchain tag. The social media company previously banned ICO advertisements, expressing concerns that users were exposed to fraudulent ICOs.
The main "block" Facebook is interested in is competition (from crypto companies). It will use blockchain itself but block competitors. Hypocrisy and anti-competitive behaviour!
