Where do you imagine the IoT in the future?

in #busy6 years ago

Undoubtedly the IoT technology is growing at an exponential rate and is more than present in vehicles, portable devices, RFID sensors (radio frequency identifiers), in addition to this, the software is advancing beyond the basic functions of the network, and the network itself is self-evolving to include the new advances and innovations that emerge every day.

Consumers have more appliances this year, than the previous year in their homes, and studies indicate that this trend will not be reduced, at least not for the moment, as advances will be even more common in homes and businesses over the course of year that is still to arrive in 2019.

When looking for IoT market statistics and their connectivity, you get a range of numbers of billions. According to IT PRO, only this year around 3,600 million devices that are connected to the Internet are used for common tasks within the home. Which means that the number of devices connected outside homes gives a lot, but much higher than those 3.6 billion.

What is meant in turn, more data and more data in an Internet network that is undoubtedly congested. In 2019 there is likely to be more pressure for the massive implementation of 5G technology, "the incorporation of a faster lane on the super-congested road of the Internet will facilitate the handling of future devices," said IT PRO.

IoT technology without hesitation is a key driver for the digital transformation of countless industries, specifically in the manufacturing industry. Sensors, RFID tags and smart beacons have already started the next industrial revolution technology. Analysts in this market predict that the number of devices IIOT (Internet of Things in Industry) could double between 2018 and 2020.

These devices are a revolutionary element for the industrial sector, which burst every part of the production process, from the development, to the management of the supply chain. Manufacturers could avoid delays, improve production performance, reduce machine downtime and better manage inventory.

This is not all that the future holds, smart cities have been asleep. The technology of intelligent buildings and smart homes is already fully developed and developed, but smart cities are another completely different aspect.

For 2019 it is predicted according to Forbes, that they will begin to see smart areas or neighborhoods within the same cities, helped by the implementation of the 5G network (more than 10 times faster than the LTE 4G) and the EDGE technology.

Sidewalks Labs, an Alphabet company is already building a smart neighborhood from scratch in Toronto, Canada. Intelligent sensors throughout the neighborhood record everything from pedestrian routes, carpooling, building occupancy, wastewater flow, and the choice of day and night temperature; with the aim of achieving a comfortable, convenient, safe and clean space for the inhabitants who live in the neighborhood.

Once the project is finalized it could be the model for other smart neighborhoods and thus take the big step to the whole city.
