I know how painful it is to see someone close to you suffer from depression so severe they wish to commit suicide. I lost my paternal rgrandfather and my brother to suicide. When I see comments like these I just see red! They literally have no idea of the suffering that suicide will leave behind. It is true that they feel that they have no other way out and that their family and friends will be better off without them. What they leave behind are devastation and guilt. Could we have done more to prevent it? Why didn't we see how bad things were...
Yes, those that are left behind feel like they've failed in all sorts of ways. Why didn't we see they were depressed? What could we have done about it? Was it something we did or said that made them spiral? So many questions and no answers.
We have to learn to live with the fact that we will never know the answers to those questions. It doesn't make it any easier.
