Introduction
Busy.org is an alternative front-end application that people use to interact with the Steem Blockchain. Their text editor is great and they have made amazing improvements on the user experience in general. I am seriously considering to switch completely to busy.org from now on...it's that good!
I didn't go on busy.org for months, it was only this weekend that I took a peep into it. To my astonishment, they have integrated referral links!
10% of their rewards for 30 days
To get there, first sign-up to Busy.org through SteemConnect. Then go to your Settings in the top right corner. You will see a link to "Invite".
Why I Might Switch Completely To Busy.Org
The Invite Link
The invite link is a pretty awesome feature. I would encourage everyone to share their busy.org invite links on their social media. It was a brilliant move by them to encourage onboarding through their platform.
Now that they have a really well functioning website, I think I'd rather direct the people I invite to join busy.org...I want people to have a good first impression and busy.org is the better option at this point.
Functioning Notification System
The fact that steemit.com notification system hasn't been repaired in months is quite annoying. Now on busy.org, I can see what's going on without having to wait for the Steemify Android App to come out.
Readability + Shareability
Compare reading my article from yesterday, ironically titled "Why Beauty Matters" on Steemit.com versus Busy.org .
The article found on busy.org is much more appealing to the eye AND much easier to share on Facebook and Twitter!
Less Buggy!
There are a lot of tabs that have bugs on my steemit.com profile. It's not easy to reply to comments, it shows the wrong reputation, sometimes showing that I have zero curation rewards, etc.
I like my front-end with less bug. Thank you.
Conclusion
Seeing how well busy.org is turning out to be really makes me happy and more confident in the future of the Steem Blockchain. I think busy.org has the potential to eat steemit.com lunch if Steemit Inc isn't careful about putting some efforts on the front-end.

It's kind of ironic that an alternative Steem interface looks more mature than Steem's flagship website. I don't know how big busy's team is, but the progress that they have made during the last several months is astonishing. I have been using it more and more in the last 10 days, and I urge each and every one of you to give it a try ;)
@cryptoctopus, the things I like most are the possibility to see who has followed and mentioned me, as well as the in-built dtube player. Cheers!
I'm actually not excited about the see-who-followed-me feature. I'm afraid it will be like Instagram where person 1 follows person 2 in the hope that person 2 will follow person 1 back. When person 2 doesn't follow person 2 back, person 1 will unfollow person 2. It used to be the same on YouTube when everyone who subscribed to you would show up in your notifications, but after YouTube removed the visibility of this (although you can still be notified on mail), the amount of cases where people subscribe and then unsubscribe right after has been dratically reduced.
Okay, I just gave it a try and now I really like the feature. While I still agree with my own logic, It's fun to be reminded of my growing follower base.
I'm stoked on the in-built dtube player, though;)
Im a social media marketer and I agree that follow-follow will do what we experienced on istagram.
The only (and huge) difference is that on steemit amount of followers with low SP means nothing. If I can build relationship with 100 people having at least some decent SP then I would choose it instead of trying to have 1000 newbie followers.
But still many people here dont seem to realize it and they are all after "big follower" number.
I started this week to use the Busy.org platform and to my knowledge it is much easier and more intuitive when it comes to publishing.
I agree with you @cryptoctopus on the potential you have in relation to Steemit. I am still delighted with the possibility of being able to get my purse or answers with just a click on the home screen.
Ofcourse they should be better than original, but without original there won't be busy.org
I don't see Steemit.com as the original one. It was the first and for a time the only one. But Steemit was just the way Steemit Inc give to users in order to access the Steem blockchain. Busy or Zappl or both of them is the way to go.
I hope there wont be something liek a civil war between them. I mostly use busy. Steemit only for transactions and market.
Im sure Steemit will mature as well.
Were I @ned Scott, I would want this in a way. A crypto-currency which has so much dependence on one website as Steem was back in 2016 is a rather fragile state of affairs. Sure you could run your own node but still, a state actor could cripple the ability of most users to move coins. Over in Bitcoin we have many light weight wallets. As for mining requiring a single website was an awful situation and I am glad we have different sites. I hope they don't all run in the U.S.A.!
Steem Connect is a single point of failure for many websites and the alternative is typing your private keys into websites everywhere. As an old-timer in the space this makes my stomach turn!
Thank you for the 411 on this @cryptoctopus.
It has been months since I used busy also. Perhaps I need to take a closer look at it.
Personally, I should support it since I believe having more options on this blockchain is a good thing. We would experience a set back if the only way to interface with the blockchain was Steemit.
Nice way to tie it into your post yesterday. Busy.org has a lot more eye appeal.
Plus, I tell newer people that they get slider bar on busy unlike steemit requiring 500 SP....so it makes sense for newer people to use that platform.
Again, thanks for the update. I will check it out.
I've also considered for a while to switch to busy.org, the features are better and i really like that you can click images to expand them.
The only thing keeping me away from switching is that my eyes are really sensitive to white, so if they added a night mode, i may be completely swayed to switch.
Have you tried turning off the blue light on your computer? This will help tremendously with eye strain and headaches.
It can be done manually or through an app.
Here a link for instructions on Windows 10:
https://www.laptopmag.com/articles/enable-windows-10-night-light
If you have a Mac there is a free app called Flux.
me too, i can't handle white backgrounds.
I use the darkviewer plugin though and it helps with a lot of sites, maybe try that?
I use stylish to get custom made css templates for the websites but I'll check out dark viewer, thanks!
hmmm...didn't think about nightmode. That's a good request.
I think i'm in a minority here, but i have to use night mode for everything that is super white and if it doesn't have a night mode i have to use other alternatives, i use night mode for almost every website, youtube, google, wikipedia, facebook, twitter, reddit, you name it, if it has a bright white background, i'm finding a way to get night mode running on it.
Is there a place where you can hit up the busy.org team with a suggestion?
That is their list of things that people ask them: (they are working on some of them right now)
I already switched busy.org Thanks for your further information
Guess i'll have to wait a bit, at least its on their list :-D
How do I set up the night mode here on Steemit?
Click on your profile picture on the steemit site and then choose "Toggle Night Mode" from the menu".
[x] login with private posting key
Should I switch to busy.org, can I connect to Steemit with all my posts? I will check out busy soon. I like the idea that you mentioned it had a nice interface. Hopefully, I want be as confused on busy.org as I've been here on Steemit. But still I want to interact with my audience seamlessly. Thanks for the information.
you have gotten some things mixed up.
steemit and busy are just different applications running on Steem (there are many others).
So you will see the same content on both just differently presented
I have also been using busy lately.
The fact they allow to choose the voting % even if you have little SP is cool.
Besides showing much more info than what we can found in steemit.
I saw an user commenting about nightmode, that has a simple fix. I installed the "dark reader" extension on chrome, and it works perfect.
There are of course other similar extensions to other browsers as well.
Busy.org is very convenient and easy to use app. It provides good features such as notification as you mentioned above and much more. It is far better than steemit. Steemit Inc is not making any improvement in steemit app and it very dull app but i'm used to its interface . I'm also thinking to completely change it to busy.org.
Yes I love busy.org too. The template makes text much appealing to the eyes, the word count feature is great, the notification feature and so much more. My challenge at the moment is just that on busy, I cannot see the list of users that have upvoted my post like steemit.com displays it.
I will check out the referral feature you mentioned because I didn't know about that until now.
that's a good point mate.
Actually you can see the list of people who upvoted your posts....even better, you can actually now see how much their upvote was worth which isn't there on steemit!!
You can get a google chrome app for that it's called steemitmoreinfo, it shows VP, upvote worth, etc...
Hmm I see, but busy is better as I don't need to install anything extra, which is always a bonus :D
Yes, totally agree with that!! The less apps installed in my pc the safer i feel
Nope, no point here :) Just hover over the numbers next to the thumbs up or down and you'll see the list with voting amounts and when you click on the numbers you get to see a popup with the percentage and an option to follow.
How is that and is it a new feature because I've been using it for sometime now and I can't seem to see the list of users that have upvoted my post. If you could explain that.
You can see the number of people who upvoted, right? Click on that number and it will pop up another tab with the details.
Once you click on the number, you can see the whole list.
I've have using busy.org for quite a while now. I first got to know about it because of the rewards they give based on the rewards the give from the total steempower of all your followers. But referrals is really a huge step. I believe if busy.org were to keep on this path, it will soon overtake steemit.com.
Switching full time right away to busy.org as well, imma get some referrals.
@cryptoctopus, I never knew busy.org had a notification system. Although I've not reaaly studied it a lot as I've been switching tentatively with steemit.com. is there any special way to activate the notifications.
Going to make some customized busy.org shirts😏
Seeing more and more posts like this. Will have to checkout busy.org myself and see what all the talk is about.
Busy.org is indeed a very nice interface with lots of extra features, one of them being a nice upvote with posting new posts from there and including the busy tag. Recommended!
What's the power of Steem is that you have a choice! :-)
By the way, all of you that still wonder whether to use Steemit.com or Busy.org or any other side, I encourage you to use relative links (instead of absolute) when you are referring posts on your blog so:
instead of:
[Why Beauty Matters](https://steemit.com/beauty/@cryptoctopus/why-beauty-matters)
use:
[Why Beauty Matters](/beauty/@cryptoctopus/why-beauty-matters)
which will look like:
Why Beauty Matters
and will show you that post on Busy if you are on Busy or on Steemit if you are on Steemit.
(Unless, of course, you want to explicitly prefer one over another, but in such case, viewer will have to make additional effort to move to his preferred site (where they are logged in) in order to upvote you)
Great advice @gtg.
Thank you
Busy.org is awesome. You know on blogs they used to have different places for original posts and reblogged posts? That was the most amazing for me. Dont know why they disabled this feature. Hope they bring it back. Cheers.
What social media platform did people use before Faceboosh. Myspace? What did people use before Myspace. Friendster?
Did any of these sites create our need for social interaction? No. They just took what people were already doing, interacting and creating social groups, (anyone remember the word "penpal?") and made this most necessary connection easier, faster, and with wider dispersion.
Enter Busy.org, although built on steem architecture, is the next logical step in this social media platform.
Usability is what keeps fresh meat from joining the steem-machine.
"This ain't your grandpa's twitter feed alright!"
Since I joined Steemit, I have found busy.org to be extremely useful. Sometimes I have difficulties logging into my steemit account due to certain security error codes. In such situations, busy has been a reliable platform which never fails.
When I was using only steemit.com, I had to rely on the esteem app for notification but with busy.org, I check my notifications very easily.
The only challenge for me as far as busy.org is concerned is that when I try to make posts and later find out that my bandwith has been exceeded, the post completely wipes off unlike steemit.com where the draft is automatically saved. I hope improvements is made on this aspect.
Apart from that, busy.org is absolutely amazing
busy saves a draft as well, at least it does for me
My I ask you a question?
If I powered up on steemit then will it has any use on busy.org? Or would I have to invest on that platform separately?
ps. how bandwith can be exceeded? I didnt know it may happend. how to achieve it? :)
Yours,
Piotre
Can someone please find a way to logon busy.org using the posting key? I do not want to give my active key to logon and I really want to be able to use this awesome website!
Yep, that really isn't a good feeling to have to use the ACTIVE key to login! While searching for a solution i came across only one post on steemit by @exyle from 2 months ago in which he writes that you get logged in at busy.org automatically when logged in with your POSTING key on steemconnect already, but that didn't work, at least not for me. I wrote and asked him about it, but have no answer yet. Maybe i mixed something up, check teh post here: https://steemit.com/dtube/@exyle/fct86la7#@moretea/re-exyle-fct86la7-20180303t140433737z
This is great. Let Steemit Inc improve the backend and let others develop the best front end possible. Seems like the best of both worlds to me. I will definitely try busy.org and continue efforts to recruit more steemians.
I will definitely be checking busy out.The Steemit Interface lacks a number of useful features that make networking a daunting task.
Does it mean you will leave us. I just got to now you 😞. If the issue is steemit notifications you could use Steemify, it works perfectly. Steemit needs steemiens like you. Look what happens in coment section when you release your post.
Hopefully you won’t leave steemit.
no that doesn't mean that at all. I posted this very post through the busy.org interface. We are all on the same steem network. What is posted on Busy.org shows up on Steemit.com and vice versa.
Thank you for answering my question. So, if I post on busy, it will show up on my Steemit account. Is that right, cryptoctopus?
That means that they are both (steemit.com & busy.com) on the same platform i.e the the steemit blockchain technology, right, i shall check it out, if it contains all this features i also shall switch to busy.com.
Thanks for heads up this communitee loves you
this still baffles me that loads of people do not really know how all this works. If I was writing on a platform that was providing me with "free" money I would at least try to find out a bit more on how it functions.
this is by no means directed at you alone @rothberg but there are so many blogs that explain Steem and steemit and busy and the basic ins and outs.
Free money? When I hear free money I’m thinking about getting check or money right to my hand without even moving my finger. For 60 rep. you should now better than that. Just to coment on any blog, you have to read the blog, which means you have to spent your free time to do that and I’m not mentioning the time you have to spend on actual post. To me steemit is someone’s job. But that’s just my opinion, no hard feelings. I have respect for everyone including you @felander. I will get to know much better busy.org so I would know how this actually work.
thats why i put it between "" since I know its not free but a lot of people that are new here tend to see it like that.
But what I meant is that in my case I was curious on how this whole thing worked and what the difference is between Steemit.com and Steem. So I took some of my time and read up on it. Most of the newer users just do not read up and hence do not "use" it to the fullest.
did you know for example that you can sell your surplus votes and make a bit of extra SBD or that busy voted for the users of their gateway or that there are addons that make steemit.com so much easier to work with...
I do not say that you have to know completely how an engine works to be able to drive a car but its good to know how to change a tire because there is no such thing as road service in crypto
Yes, I agree. You are completely right. Just a few weeks ago I didn’t know much about steemit just like many others. But “by time passing” I learned much more. Just like today from you.
I first visited busy.org last year and I tell you, they have really made a great improvement on there site.
Yes, it's very good sir. Since I started using busy.org fully in early February, I tell you, the experience has been great. What I love most about busy.org is there functioning notification system and the upvote they give whenever you post using busy.org.
I think I will also start using the referral link now to see how the reward will be cos I've not been using it since all this while.
Busy.org has improved a lot and I'm sure they will continue to improve on the site
Never knew busy.org has integrated a referral link. I need to go and sign-up asap to also enjoy this referral program. Thanks boss for sharing this
Thats true, but i dont know about its notification service. Busy.org seems really a better plateform.
By the way nice informative post.
Busy.org seems really a better platform, really invitation link is a better feature, sharing and readability is better than steem platform, also bugg free thats a good feature, I also think switching to Busy.org is a better option. But you have not shared any info about money redeem?
My I ask you a question?
If I powered up on steemit then will it has any use on busy.org? Or would I have to invest on that platform separately?
ps. how bandwith can be exceeded? I didnt know it may happend. how to achieve it? :)
Yours,
Piotr
Yeah sir i have being using that site busy.org that provide us many advantages sometime a reward of some SBD and mOre over the features it providing for the text lower class uper class bold that beautify our content beacause of that our content become more attractive so from now on i m going to just that busy.org
Thank you for your motivation
that's great you get notified after evry comment, upvote, otherwise lot of notifications get missed and we are unable to comment or upvote a post, busy.org will rock...
wooow this looks really interesting, Before I tried to sign up for SteemConnect but actually I didnt make it. I did not understnad the whole process yet.
I will give it few hours very soon and check all of that. Thank you for the great info
Hi @cryptoctopus i just have a question, for example if i invite a friend too steemit, i can send him the link of invitation via busy.org and the register on steemit will be normal?
they will go through the same sign-up process but then be directed back to busy.org I believe. (don't quote me on that)
@cryptoctopus you have really discorage me you have downvote me and look at my reputuion i make it by the hard work of day and night but you have no feelings of other dont use the misuse of ypur power what will now i do you have make me depress if your dont like mt comnment simply ignore me thats really dissapointing!
https://steemit.com/spam/@cryptoctopus/tackling-spam-comments-on-steem-clean-your-own-room - Repeating your comment and spamming this comment section any further won't help your case.
@cryptoctopus i appericate your work about spaming but sir you can check my blog i am not a spammer and i am not good at that in english so i try to understand but i write may be you get me wrong sir plz i am really working this might could lead me to a sucide!
Dude, don't bring suicide on this and try guilt me into voting for you...you are going too far. Grow up and find a better way to do social media.
@cryptoctopus you can feel my sadness if your were in place of me you will feel what i am and what is going in my life thanks for making me more sad be happy stay bless
Great decision if you do make the switch! I switched to Busy.org back in November and I haven't went back since. : ) @cryptoctopus
I haven't used it yet.
Didn't know it had a notification service.
That's great.
Notification service is a must for any social platform to keep in touch with everything happening
I like the template busy platform of a lightweight and clean, very appropriate for readers and easy nav in access.
Thanks for the interesting topics.
I've heard from a couple of users that is a good page, however I have days thinking about going for a ride there. But now that you've commented, I'll give a check. We have to be open for new things.
busy.org is an excellent alternative application. If you asked me for rating, I would say it is the next biggest thing in this whole game after the great steemit.com itself. It is very easy to navigate and it has easily accessible tools where you can italicize, bold or place quotes.
Also, claiming of rewards, I noticed, is relatively faster on busy.org compared to steemit.com. i dont really know whether this could be related to the slow internet service is Nigeria. I would like a feedback comparison from another user on this.
Oh yes, great news, my friend, and such a function as the busy.org referral program gives an additional incentive to us all, you are right, we can engage in the invitation of new participants, thereby improving the influence of the Steem Blockchain and even we can earn. According to your message, I understand that the placement through the busy.org is more convenient and fewer problems, this is significant and I also need to pay attention! Thank you @cryptoctopus
of course I find irresistible busy.org too. The guide makes content a large amount appealing to the eyes, the word add up figure is great, the notification figure and subsequently greatly more. My challenge at the second is definitely that on busy, I cannot escort the slant of users that include upvoted my place of duty like steemit.com displays it.
I will confirm out the medical appointment countenance you mentioned as I didn't appreciate about that until now.
I completely agree with you about steemit.com.Now i am interested about Busy.org after reading your post. What you described it sounds pretty cool because i am working in steemit now its more that a month. In this time i have faced a lot of problems such as bandwidth issue, flag issue, curation fee and some other. If i get a better platform to work with i will surely go there, but i already loved steemit.com after having all the problems i still love it.But i am also keepin a eye on that. Thanks for such important post.@upvoted and resteemed
I have been with steemit.com for quite so time but last week i checked out busy.org and made some post via it and believe me, i already made up my mind to post via busy.org.
It gives a real social media user experience and a whole lot more. The fololwers suggestion, the notifications and much more makes it worth a while. So i'd say you migrate to busy.org
My I ask you a question?
If I powered up on steemit then will it has any use on busy.org? Or would I have to invest on that platform separately?
ps. how bandwith can be exceeded? I didnt know it may happend. how to achieve it? :)
Yours,
Piotr
No you dont need to invest in separately in busy.org. They all use a common steem blockchain so if you power up on steemit, its for all platforms using steem blockchain
Thank you for your kind answer.
It's clear that Busy.org has big plans to bring more functionality to the original Steemit platform and that itself will be very appreciated. After all, do we really want a company like Facebook controlling the entire social networking market, selling our data to the highest bidder and offering nothing in return except access to the platform.
My I ask you a question?
If I powered up on steemit then will it has any use on busy.org? Or would I have to invest on that platform separately?
No , buddy busy just provides better user interface account remains the same.
oh wow.
so if I invested all spare cash into steemit then it's not gonna go to waste if I would move to busy.org as posts can be published on both platforms
thx
Yup sure , they are all connected with steemconnect ,so no need to worry it is one and the same thing but different 😁
thank you for your kind reply
I noticed that you're also sharing passion towards crypto.
I will be following you :) cheers,
are you from Nepal? I didnt know Kashmir is so amazing
Thanks buddy.
No i am from kashmir ..
Hey @cryptoctopus. Welcome back...
I was trying to find an alternate web site during which I might still produce my Steemit posts. That was the time once Steemit.com can't be accessed thanks to web site updates being created that point. when asking some fellow Steemians United Nations agency have used the location, I got convinced that Busy could be a sensible various.
I I didn't know anything about Busy.org & its function, after reading your post , I have learned a lot about Busy.org & its function . Thanks man, keep on enrich our knowledge & Steemit with your post .
Busy.org is better than the steemit itself .busy.org gives the notification which makes it better to use...it is like busy.org is the evolved version of steemit.the interface is much better than steemit
It is awesome also you can share your link directly to facebook .
Few advantages are:
It is a secure site. Using Busy.org, we could login with our Steemit's username and password (posting key). Knowing that Busy is a secured site, we are confident to input our details in there. It is important that we only use secured sites to avoid possible malware or viruses. Better safe than later regret using an unsecured site.
We can use it the way we use the Steemit site. Aside from posting on the site, we can use it such as checking our wallets and do transfers, and other transactions that we usually do in Steemit.
There will be a reward. This reward is an upvote from the busy.org account. They have a bot that upvotes posts created in their site. Just make sure that you used busy as one of your tags. Based on this, the bot will be voting a single user twice a day or every 12 hours. Kindly read their post in the link mentioned for more details about how thebusy bot votes and what could be its value.
I myself mostly use busy.org for steemit activities. I think busy.org is easy to use especially in terms of menu "activity" see my activities and my friends. Moreover recently the busy.org added "notification" which makes it easier for us to control the activity of our steemit account.
I am using busy.org since 2 months ago ,when steemit.com down temporary. Then I check for alternative solution and I got 2 sites first one is busy.org and another one is chainbb.com .when I research more about both sites , I get to know that chainbb deduct some amount from your reward around 15%. Where as the busy.org give me the extra rewards based on your followers. Which is plus point for busy.org .then I started using busy.org .
But I don't know about the invite system ,thanks for telling about this feature. The layout of busy.org like Facebook and its performance is better than steemit based on my experience caused I am using this site into my phone . I also think busy.org is a potential to eat steemit and soon it will happen.
Hey @ cryptoctopus, great post! I enjoyed your content. Keep up the good work!
It's always nice to see good content here on Steemit! Cheers :)
I've been using Busy.org for a long time and I like it. The main thing is that the project is developing and it's good.
Is that for the first 30 days or every 30 days?
Thanks @cryptoctopus!
WOW! Such a vast difference in the layout and functionality. Love how it looks and feels. I have already signed up and using it already.
Cheers!! Mel @coachmelleow
That's true. Infact, this is the best part that I like right now. A lot of people are trying to come into steemit and approval mails are taking forever to come in, so this feature is the most welcomed for now.
I agree quite well with the other reasons you gave and Infact, it's the reason I'm now using busy.org.
However, the site is still buggy and needs more work to be done on it.
For example, yesterday evening, so many steemit accounts were not opening and the message page not found was shown which I drew some persons attention to until it was corrected.
But altogether, busy.org is better, much better than the default steemit.com site.
And oh! The voting slider make it splendid too. Ask the minnows
Thank you for this post i never know they have Invite Link that can be very helping for me as i find myself telling so many people about steemit and send them to join it
so much true
The assignment was an old profitable one but now it's becoming unprofitable I do not care about the assignment
Seriously busy.org has a better user interface.. And this referral is awesome, let me check it out.
My I ask you a question?
If I powered up on steemit then will it has any use on busy.org? Or would I have to invest on that platform separately?
ps. how bandwith can be exceeded? I didnt know it may happend. how to achieve it? :)
