Everyday, we speak, listen, and see thousands of words. But have you ever wondered, where all of these words come from? Well, Nicholas Allen did also, and he decided to make his own word. The word was "frindle", and it spread very quickly
Through Nick and his word, I was able to learn the power of words, and how fast words can spread. Even with Mrs. Granger's strong opposition, the word spread quickly, among his school friends, and later nationwide. Since words are spoken daily by people, a new word can spread very fast. These days, especially, because of the development of the internet, new words are constantly added to the dictionary.
I was also amazed at Nick's creativity, and the ability to make up a new word and make it popular. Most kids would have just read the dictionary, but Nick though of making a new word for itself. He also spread the word through his careful friends, such as purposefully making his friends used the word "frindle" when buying a pen at the store. Though his efforts, Nick was eventually able to have the word on a dictionary, which is a very hard thing for a made-up word by an elementary schooler. He is definitely a creative and smart boy full of innovative ideas
