The Benefits of Leaves

Who would have thought the tree that we often encountered in the forest and grow wild has many benefits. This plant has the property as a reliever fever, pain relievers, shed urine, cure leucorrhoea even treat burns or bloody wounds.

Senduduk leaves or with a known scientific name Melastomo Malabathricum L., this is one plant that contains high antioxidants. According simanjuntak (2008) in his research on Extraction and Fraction of Leaves of Plants Senduduk prove that in the leaves of the body contained chemical compounds flavonoida, saponin and tannin. image

Flavonoids in the human body function as antioxidants so it is very good for cancer prevention (Simanjuntak, 2008). While saponins have the ability as a cleanser and antiseptic that serves to kill or prevent the growth of microorganisms that usually arise in the wound so that the wound does not experience severe infection (Robinson, 1995).

Tanin itself serves as an adstringent that can cause shrinkage of skin pores, harden the skin, stop exudate and bleeding that arises in the wound (Anief, 1997).
