„You will never touch happiness, but it’s worth running after it.”, says a quote of Vama Veche, one of the most famous romanian bands of the last decades. Once, Vama Veche, this small and wild seaside village represented the ESCAPE for thousand of romanians and not only. Vama Veche (the Old Border in english) was the place that many rockers, punkers, students, poets, musicians and other great thinkers called heaven (or hell).
No hotels, no fancy beach clubs, you could count the bars, the restaurants and the small shops on your fingers. Scattered in tents along the beach, these beautiful crazy people had the time of their lives without internet or smartphones.
Years have passed and this special place suffered a big transformation that some people consider beneficial, some people bad. Many of them never came back after police forbidden them to plant their tents on the beach because glam clubs appeared, hotels have risen in that beautiful heaven corner and people of all types started to come.
Now, Vama Veche is a mix of all kind of people, from rockers, to manele listeners. The village is suffocated by humans, clubs, bars, restaurants, shops, hotels. Foreigners from all around the globe started to come here fascinated by the night life, small prices, nice music and beautiful women.
The season starts on 1st of May and ends in the late September. For almost five months, unforgettable stories are written, sprinkled with love, alcohol and sun. Although this seaside village started to name Vamaia, comparing with the glamourous place from the north Mamaia, Vama Veche keeps a unique atmosphere met only here, where all the people ale young. You need to taste this craziness for at least once in a lifetime.
And to remember an old saying about this mad place: „What happens in Vama Veche, stays in Vama Veche!”.
Really good description, and the English is almost immaculate. Good job this time!
I was never a Vama Veche regular visitor. I went there for the fun of it a couple of times, I can't sunbathe due to the color of my skin and I am never good at applying SPF 50 from head to toe. So I spend all my time snorkling :)
The experience is worth it, even now, with all the glam clubs. You can just avoid them :)
Yes. It is the difference because the article is part of the project that I'm going to start tomorrow. Stay close to seeing what it is about.
It's a very nice place! I like it!.
thank you
