This is Libourne, I want to say a small town but on New Zealand standards this is almost a city. What I do love about it though is it is far from the hustle and bustle of the much larger Bordeaux. So in saying that. Yes, I am going to call it a small, friendly and beautiful country town.
Situated only 40mins drive from Bordeaux this has become a very popular spot for all those people wanting to get out of the big city and take on a more relaxed atmosphere while still having the conveniece of a manageable drive to work in Bordeaux.
As you can tell from my pictures I loved the riverside. This river runs along the eastern side of Libourne and was a great spot for a walk or run. I would quite often just walk down after work towards the town center and take pictures.
Libourne to me is a great little town with a real genuine french feel with the daily market in the town center and all the old buildings surrounding this. As far as tourism goes Libourne is not really a common spot and you are better off heading straight to Saint Emillion if vinyards and wine tasting is more your thing. But if you are after experiencing the real day to day life of the French people then this place is definaitly worth checking out.
If you have made it this far then many thanks and I hope you have enjoyed this post. If this or any other of my posts have inspired you to travel or to visit these places then all I can say is DO IT and dont look back! All of my content is taken, edited and written by myself.
Enjoy
