Today I had lunch with a bunch of old friends that I hadn't seen in a long time. It was fun to be able to sit around a big round table and have our conversation over a bunch of plates of Chinese food.
I really enjoyed myself and it was great to see everybody. I know everybody else really had a good time too.

We exchanged gifts and spent time looking over each other's different presents.
We had long conversations in which each and every person got to express their opinion on this thing or that thing.
We told all kinds of stories. We laughed and enjoyed several moments of incredible joy together.
When it was time to leave, some of us were feeling a little bit sad.
I guess it sucks to have such a fun time together and then realize that it might not happen again for a while.
Maybe that's one of the feelings that happens around the holidays that nobody really talks about.
I know it's happened to me on more than one occasion.
It doesn't always have to do with the holidays either.
Maybe you went to the beach and met a beautiful young woman there. You spend some time having all kinds of fun splashing around and enjoying each other's company.
When you came home and didn't have a way to contact her, you probably felt really bad that you're not going to get to see her again.
That happened to me on a couple of different occasions.
As we walking out of the Chinese restaurant tonight though, I noticed a few of my friends feeling really bad about having to leave.
It really reminded me of the end to the movie Frosty the Snowman.
Do you remember that movie? Frosty melts into a puddle, and the little girl cries because he is going to be gone.
Santa Claus comes and tells the little girl that Frosty is not really gone for good.
So if you're feeling bad that the holidays are over, just keep in mind that they'll be back again next year.
You don't have to wait for the holidays to be in the holiday spirit though.
Be kind to people.
Be a friend to your friends.
Next year, the holidays will be back, and so will the good times.
Here's hoping for a good 2019.
Hey there.
The holidays aren’t over for me. We still have New Years and Three Kings Day. We will probably also do some cultural appropriation and celebrate ChineseNew Years.
I like reading your blog, it reminds me of other perspectives.
Hope you’re doing great.
Well I did go out for Chinese food today.
Thanks for this comforting message.
