Penguins are the most common flightless, aquatic birds living in colonies in the Antarctic. There are total 17 species of penguins, all are found in the Southern Hemisphere.

Penguins are also classified as birds like other birds, although they can't fly. Most birds have wings whereas, the penguin’s wings have evolved into flippers. They use their flippers to swim through the water.

They have solid bones unlike most other bird, which inhibits their flight. They have more feathers than any other type of bird. Outer feathers keep them watertight, and downy feathers close to the skin keep them warm.
