Part 38: A Tough Debate
After our meeting with Savaş Demirkol, we decided to go to the Pan Café to make an assessment. As if the arrogant attitude of the Savaş Demirkol during the interview was not enough, the dancing girl's hologram disappeared. What makes the situation even more frustrating was that both clerks at the Pan Cafe, who have been working for over a year, said they didn't know where the hologram was. The ignorance they had about the disappearance of the dancing girl's hologram was unbelievable. They didn't notice the absence of the girl dancing in her red dress every day before their eyes. When I asked, “Do you have the phone number of Fuat Abi?” the tall one said, “he's coming every day, so he didn't give us his number.”
I did not insist on the number, although it was evident that he was lying, but instead asked, “When do you think he will come?”. Clerks were also reluctant to tell me when the cafe owner Fuat will come, when I expect their answer, Berkan approached me and said, “What are you doing, son, come over here and let's get back to work.”
“Probably will be here in two or three hours,” said the tall clerk.
“You got up by the left side today? You almost beat the clerks because of the non-existing hologram,” said Berkan.
I said,” I'm angry with Savaş Demirkol; he is trying to cheat us."
“There is no room for sentimentality in business life, weren't you the one who has been blowing my head for months that we should be ready to accept the cold facts? It is a perfect opportunity, son, get your head together,” said Berkan a passionate tone.
I was surprised by Berkan's enthusiasm and excitement and said, “You are very excited by the unsatisfactory offer of him.”
"For days we've been eating nothing other than soup, pasta, eggs. I'm not the grandson of a Pasha like you, let's accept the proposal,” said Berkan.
“What do you say, Deniz?” I asked.
“Let's not let Savaş Demirkol put time pressure on us, we have a rapidly growing platform, and if we spread the negotiations in time, we can find other potential buyers,” Deniz said.
“We have an application that shines like a star, and you say we shouldn't jump like a carp on the first offer, right?” I said with a smile.
“Let's put the money in our pockets; let's get to work. It's like the suitors are lined up on our doorstep and you don't like the guy. Savaş Demirkol doesn't run a charity, of course, he'll think of his own. And the guy doesn't exclude us, but he says, " keep up the good work." I think we should not engage in a struggle where our breath cannot suffice.”
“We have won that fight, my friend. Despite their huge marketing budget, they tried and failed to do the job. He accepted us to his room because of our success,” I said.
Berkan was anxious to say, “Don't be stubborn Samet, I beg you. If we don't accept the offer, they will imitate our application in a week and finish us with plenty of advertising. You've worked for six months; you're going to earn $ 300,000. You buy a house with that money. You'il have a bullet for the next ideas. Deniz, you're smarter than this cow-eyed guy. Let's not go to war that we can't win. Pelin has a good grasp of these trades. There were a lot of people who had to apply for low salaries after they rejected the attractive offers of big companies. Pelin was supposed to come, but I didn't bring her. We can start a new initiative if we don't like Demirkol Holding”.
“I'm not against selling the company to Demirkol Holding, I think Savaş Demirkol is ready to pay two times what he offers, he's just taking his chances, so I don't want to let him fool us,” said Deniz.
“There was an active discussion, friends. As a result, we do not accept the proposal, I will report to them in a moment,” I said.
“The wrong decision, they will finish us, let's visit Seçil together, let's discuss it again, if you don't change your decision after listening to her, we will reject it,” said Berkan with one last hope.
Deniz said in a hesitant voice, “It is a reasonable offer.“
"This issue is primarily related to the partners. There's no need to talk to Seçil,” I said with a determined voice. I have informed Demirkol Holding that we have rejected their offer.
