Harrods is the world’s most famous department store with all manner of luxury gifts on offer, including the latest men’s and women’s designer fashion. It is considered a major global shopping destination and a must visit place in London.
I came here with my friend a few days back and the Christmas atmosphere was in full swing! Starting with arriving at the closest station “Knightsbridge”. Right outside the station is the first luxury department store Harvey Nichols with their stunning Christmas shop window!
After walking a few minutes through a short tunnel, Harrods was right in front of us with it's iconic bright lights lighting up the whole street! The view was breath-taking and one of the kind, for sure! It is said that at night Harrods is lit up by 12,000 light bulbs on the store face with 300 bulbs changed daily! Fascinating...
The building itself is also amazing and exactly as how you would expect a spectacular top department store to be! It is beautifully designed and decorated and I also love the Egyptian escalator!
Harrods has 330 departments. This is the shop where you can buy all sort of things that carry the name, from latest fashion items to toys and even Krispy Kreme donuts. I mostly hung out in the skin-care and makeup departments and everything looked absolutely incredible.
The only problem was I kept bumping into people as the place was so packed and everyone seemed to be buying gifts for the festive season, haha! According to online data, on an average day, approx 100,000 people come to shop at Harrods and on peak days like the Christmas season, that number can increase to 300,000!
The food hall is also well worth seeing and you will be amazed at the variety that is available, lol.

What a wonderful department store, I think the best in the world... I loved the food area... A dream, but everything was so expansive...

Nah, the online stores can't compete at all. You're not looking at the price tag when you come to Harrods.
