Yes sir.
And this is supposedly a socialist government ..
Yes sir.
Now the passport costs 7,200 Bs., That is, it costs 4 months of minimum wage (1,800 Bs./ months).
Yes sir.
But, the thing is that ...
That is the salary that the vast majority of Venezuelans and Venezuelans earn, even within the same government, and even less within some of the Missions.
Yes sir.
It's more …
Based on the sources of information that I have found (see below) ...
In terms of USD dollars, the Venezuelan passport is now also the second most expensive passport in the world - after Turkey - for Venezuelans living abroad.
This is a blatant first-order scam! (in my assessment)
See the news about it (announced by the vice president of the country, Delcy Rodríguez):
As of today, passports must be paid in Petros. To the Venezuelans abroad 200 dollars and the extension 100
TESTS
For you to make the comparison with other countries, I present the following short list where you can see how much passports cost compared to the minimum wages of each country.
The figures are approximate and rounded (I hope I was not wrong).
Country = cost passport ($ USD) = cost in terms of the minimum wage of that country
Trinidad Tobago = $ 20 = 2 days of salary
South Africa = $ 14 = 2 days salary
Canada = $ 128 = 3 days of salary
US = $ 110 = 3 days of salary
Great Britain = $ 90 = 3 days of salary
Mexico = $ 155 = 4 days of salary
Chile = $ 132 = 7 days of salary
Turkey = $ 268 = 12 days of salary
Venezuela = $ 30 = 120 days of salary (4 months)

Scammers! (in my assessment)
But …
The most incredible thing about all this is that this government and the ANC --- who basically run this country --- dare to call themselves socialists and Chavistas.
That is being deeply hypocritical!
They are not Chavistas, nothing socialist, nothing, no sir.
As you can see in the list above, these leaders are the biggest and shameless capitalist abusers in the world, swindlers in my estimation, are worse than the Turks that Maduro seems to love so much, who by chance also have one of the most expensive passports in the world (although nothing so expensive compared to Venezuela).
Hypocrites, that's what they are!
