This post is about sharing the things I do in Steemit for the last 6 months. The rewards that I am earning might be different or smaller to others however these tips gave a huge boost to my Steemit account and it can be done to yours as well. I'll also put some screenshots for proof of my earnings and since it's working for me, it will definitely work for you too.

This will also be a big help for people starting out without knowing anyone nor a big network here in Steemit.

Comments

Most newbies will hear this tip from longer Steemit members. If you are still not doing this, better do it now because you lose a lot of its privileges. This was also my mistake during my first 2 weeks in Steemit.

When I start making comments on other posts, that's when I gained followers and then eventually friends and everything about Steemit has been fun. I learned about a lot of things like curie, ocd, utopian, dmania, busy and other platforms and communities you won't think is integrated to Steemit that you can benefit from.

Tips for making comments

  • Your comment must not be just a standard "great post or nice pic". Making a lot of generic comments will make you look like a spammer. It should contain words with great value, something that you can add to the post like extra tips or suggestions.

  • Your comments are like your mini blog post. If you give good value out of your comments, readers will feel that your blog posts have the same value thus making them follow you more.

  • Comments are easier to do than blog posts, you can make plenty of great comments than great blog posts in a day so comment as much as you can.

Contests

Another best way to earn big on Steemit. I haven't done this in a while but I definitely recommend it. Contests are done by a lot of people on Steemit so better follow them so you are always updated to their contests.

Tips for Contests

  • Don't just choose contests just because it's easier than the others but join them because you enjoy doing it. I know nothing about photography but I enjoyed and loved the photography contests I joined and the best thing is I was learning from it.

  • Contests are like double rewards, you earn from your post for the contest and if you win the contest, you also get some rewards so always have fun but treat your contest entries seriously.

  • Always read the contest rules. There are contests that can be done when you make posts but there are also others that can be done only in comments, some require an upvote and resteem for you to join the contest.

  • Some of the wonderful contests out there are photography, singing, art, writing, untalented and many more, you just have to find what's best one for you.

Community Accounts

Community accounts are Steemit accounts that are handled by several people which are used for helping newbies get a big leap on Steemit. Some of these examples are curie and OCD which votes and resteems great posts. A vote from them can earn $20 or more for a post.

Tips for community accounts

  • Make a quality post, one of their main requirement is having a great post that's easy to read, with good formatting and something that helps or inspire other people, showing the beauty of your place or country are great posts too and of course, showcasing your talents like your drawing skills or amazing singing voice.

  • Follow their guidelines, not all community accounts are the same so if you want your posts to be recognized by them, it should be within their guidelines.

  • Avoid plagiarism or spamming and other negatives as that is a big rejection from community accounts.

This is a link to one of my posts that got voted by curie when my rep was still low. It rewarded me of about $49 or so.

Platforms

Using other platforms integrated to Steemit has been the most rewarding for me because they give tremendous rewards for minnows like us. There's a lot but you don't have to do all of them, try them first and see what's best for you.

  • utopian.io - this is the best for me, it gave me rewards I never thought I could earn in this early stage of my Steemit account. The process with Utopian is simple, contribute to open source projects and wait for their moderators to approve your post. If your post got approve, the Utopian account will vote your contribution.

Here's a screenshot of my Utopian rewards, you can earn everyday like this on Utopian. They're very strict on their rules so make sure to follow them.

  • busy.org - is created to be similar to Facebook. It has some extra features that Steemit doesn't have like saving several drafts or bookmarks. The best feature of busy.org is that by using the tag busy, the busy.org account will vote your post depending on your number of followers and their voting power.

  • dmania.lol - A simple platform similar to 9gag or imgurr where people can share memes or funny videos. Long posts aren't needed here, just meme or video then upload, that's it and if dmania likes your post, he might give you an upvote, sometimes $5, sometimes $20 or more.

Here's a screenshot when dmania upvoted one of my post and it was about $50.

  • d.tube - like youtube where videos are your contents. Great quality videos can also get votes from the dtube account but it must be a really great video with valuable information and entertaining.

  • zappl.com - The Twitter platform of Steemit. Use it for micro blogging because only 240 characters are allowed here. Of course, pics and videos are all welcome.

  • steepshot.io - is a mobile application that has an instagram feel to it. So, the contents here are pictures, pictures and more pictures and it's easy to launch on your phone since it's a mobile app.

I've used all of these platforms at least more than once especially utopian and busy. If you have a Steemit account then it's easy to register on those platforms. Please make sure to use your posting or active key because they do accept that rather than putting your Steemit password.
