Serious question, Don't most people vote up their own post? That used to be normal but I haven't posted in a while. I feel like the atmosphere has become so touchy so I took the easy way and just bought more Steem today.

There are some people who like to go around making odd rules and then calling other people names if they don't follow the odd rules. It's a weird thing to do.
Although it has never been my practise to self vote one could call me an advocate of the code being law. So unless/until self voting is outlawed via the software my feeling is do what you will.
No apologies, I upvote myself at 100 percent once a day! That's the reward I receive for holding my stake. :)

I upvote most of my own posts these days. As whatsup says, it's the reward for locking up Steem Power for 3 months.
