In this video presentation, it emphasizes on immigrants. Illegal is a common response on immigrants. The answer on immigrants are mostly negative.
The most common words to describe immigrants is “illegal”.
Nalini Krishnankutty cited all the immigrants who were famous and now so powerful but yet they were all immigrants. They all came from different countries. All the people and their descendants shaped America. 14% of the population in America are immigrants.
The speaker is also an immigrant. She has have experiences which reminds her of her otherness. The hatred of immigrants that escalates them to be so angry with America. Because of the negativity of the America on immigrants made them really to have them, as these immigrants really helped the country to grow, to be molded, to be one of the greatest.
One German immigrant who made famous the kindergarten, and those companies that now more so famous. Also German immigrant where the ones who thought of having weekends as recreation and not as work days. We feel that the German experience is now the American experience.
So many immigrants of different nationalities who becomes to arrive in America and introduce all their famous works/arts which really made famous the America.
It took 40 years to correct these discrimination on immigrants and the law on immigrant was revised. The different immigrants coming from the different countries were pouring in America. Are we going to be the generations that hates immigrants, or are we going to be the generation that will allow them to be in America.
The speaker really emphasizes so many famous people of different talents and all the American experiences of baseball, beer and etc. Were all created by the immigrants. The lists goes on and on. Smart, creative, pioneering, revealing, etc. must be our acceptance to these immigrants no matter what countries they came from as they were the ones who shaped what we now have, America.
