I was looking through content from the Blockchain LA conference yesterday. They had some big name speakers like NN Taleb and Naval Ravikant. It seemed like a lot of focus was on EOS dApps ecosystem, for example Sense.chat dApp. Unfortunately, no mention of Steem dApps that I could see. Any idea why?

No firsthand knowledge @torry.blog just some guesses.
To start, Steem is a specialized blockchain as opposed to EOS which is a general one. The capabilities and reach of EOS are potentially much greater than Steem in that regard. Steem is a content reward chain. It is designed to reward people for their content, which is a fair portion of the internet.
Also, Steem is not out there as a big name promoting. Having the onboard issues for so long makes it only make sense, why drive a ton of traffic if it will take a few weeks to get approved. This should change a bit once the applications start handling some of that.
Thus far, Steem is under the radar which, personally, I am okay with. I want to buy some more so let it rest a while. LOL
One side note, it appears that Steem apps have, for the most part, most users than either EOS or ETH. In that I mean there are more apps with 300 users on Steem than those two blockchains.
This will change in the future but, for the moment, that is a claim Steem can make.
Thanks @taskmaster4450. I feel a bit guilty for not being at the con to spread the word about Steem.
