RE: Is It Wrong To Only Follow Steemians Who Vote Up Comments On Their Posts?

in #busy7 years ago (edited)

I rarely upvote comments: if someone sounds cool I visit their site and upvote their content instead. I am not the only one who does this. Chatting and engagement is good, but it is more about the content for me.

Sort:

I'm with you but it's an tough start in this community for newbies. You your content don't even get noticed and you don't have the power or partners to push it. So producing long good content for just 1 view can be a pain in the ass! So commenting can be a great opportunity for new people to participate, connect to people and strenght their SP by getting their comments tipped ;-)

Hmmm, tips for comments were not worth as much when I started. My votes are basically worthless now that I am powering down. I have been resteeming a lot of people instead, since I seem to have active followers.

If you are a minnow even small amounts can be more than nothing. Reestiming can be another great option. But for me I don't see it on the first spot if someone resteems. A tip for my comment is more present. Just a psychological thinking...
By the way I would love to upvote you, but with my power, you wouldnt get a cent lol

there is one school of thought for content creators that if you vote up and engage with your followers they will see all your content and vote on it. I'm finding that I followed too many people and the people I really want to see get lost in the noise of my feed. I have been purging who I follow so it is more manageble. It will be interesting to see how it all shakes out as this thing grows. I hear what you are saying about content and it is a good point.

Purging is good, especially when people do not seem to be trying. A lot of steemians in chat like to save their votes until they have more power, I vote to much sometimes I think.
