Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola refused to question Fabian Delph's expulsion in the Wigan Athletic game. Guardiola also manly accepted his team's defeat.
Delph red card coloring defeat 0-1 suffered City from Wigan in the fifth round of the FA Cup, Tuesday (20/2/2018) pm dawn. City's left-back was expelled after tackling Max Power in the final minutes of the first half.
Referee Anthony Taylor had already issued a yellow card from his pocket. However, Taylor changed his mind and finally rewarded Delph with a straight red card.
Guardiola did not want to question the incident. He chose to respect the referee's decision.
"Red card It's a red card, yeah," Guardiola said as quoted by Soccerway.
"For me, it was unnecessary action and the referee decided when he decided it could be a red card, we have to learn about it," he added.
City failed to score despite appearing very dominant with 83% of the ball control. City recorded 29 goals scored, but only five are right on target. Meanwhile, two of Wigan's four attempts led to City's goal and one in which Will Grigg scored a goal in the 79th minute.
