I salute all platform Steemit!
Today, I would like to share with you a great pleasure, because I never thought that my small Italian town, numbering only 25 thousand population, will be among the few cities in the world in the list of cultural and historical heritage of UNESCO.
Last year our city became known that our mayor has prepared official documents and has applied for inclusion of the city of Ivrea in the world heritage list of UNESCO. We all looked forward to the outcome of our application. We didn't hope much, because in Italy, in my opinion, almost every city can fall under the status of a world heritage city by some criteria. I think that everyone will agree with me that the history of the Roman Empire is of great importance for the whole world. Roman civilization left behind a huge historical heritage: the Roman state, Roman law and the Roman Catholic Church. And I am happy to see the historical monuments of the ancient Roman era , which have preserved their beauty and uniqueness to this day.
Hebrew, like most Italian cities has a rich history. But, honestly we must admit that can not compete, for example with the famous Sicilian city of Palermo, in historical terms.
But Ivrea in the twentieth century became famous throughout the world as an industrial city of global significance, through the construction of a factory for the production of writing machines under the guidance of Camillo Olivetti. He started his family business in early 1908. And in the future he attracted to participate in the project of his son Adriano Olivetti. Due to the commercial ability and flair, Adriano Olivetti brought the family business to the world stage, making the city of Ivrea is famous worldwide. A factory for the production of writing machines was built, tens of thousands of new workers were attracted, who came to live in a small town in Northern Italy, which few people had heard about before. The population of the city increased 3 times. The Olivetti family began to build houses for their employees in the new part of Ivrea, on the other side of the river Dora Baltea, inviting famous architects of Italy to participate in the construction.
In the mid-twentieth century Ivrea flourished, the city attracted new citizens, built schools and kindergartens, open new stores, the private sector gained momentum in all spheres of activities. People lived very, very well. From all over the world came the managers and executives, signed multi-million contracts for the supply of typewriters in America, England, France, the USSR, Canada, Australia and many other countries in Europe and Asia. Do you have any idea what level of fame the Hebrew had? And at the same time, until his last days, the Director of the factory every morning and evening met his workers at the checkpoint and everyone gave a hand and said words of gratitude: "Thank you for coming to work and thank you for your work!!!"This is how the main Italian TOP managers of the XX century worked.
For high achievements in the development of innovative technologies in the twentieth century Ivrea became a world heritage list of UNESCO as an industrial city of the XX century. This news was held on all information channels of Italy on July 1, 2018.
Many thanks to the former mayor of Ivrea Carlo Della Pepa, who has done a great job to achieve this important goal for our city.

he's wearing glasses in the picture, everybody congratulates him.
Deserved congratulations, Bravo to the mayor!
We all hope that the new status will give the city a second wind and who knows, perhaps inspire other enterprising people to the new development of the city. In any case, we now have the responsibility to preserve the memory of the outstanding manufacturer of typewriters Camillo and Andriano Olivetti to future generations of young Italians.
Nice and interest
thanks
