Wow, I had no idea they could alternate markings and coloring over generations like that. Nature is amazing. I wonder. Do they migrate like the Monarch. It could be that the markins have adapted to fit into different environments. Or perhaps it is the food they eat and different times of year. Do the generations occur within the same year at different seasons or do both markings appear at the same time. I would guess that one of these questions would help us get to the bottom of the difference.

This kind of butterfly is not migration type. Orange-red version ie. 1 generation appear in early spring in March, while 2 generation (black version) appear in June. What is the cause for such drastic change I really don't know yet, but I will find it out soon or later! Thank you! :)
