The Cullen Viaduct is a well known landmark in north-east Scotland. This railway viaduct was completed for The Great North of Scotland Railway in 1886 to pass through the picturesque seaside town of Cullen, because the Countess of Seafield objected to the train passing through the grounds of her stately home, Cullen House.
The government closed the railway in 1968, and a coastal footpath now crosses the viaduct with magnificent views of the surrounding countryside, the town of Cullen and the Moray Firth, an estuary of The North Sea. The footpath also forms part of a national cycle path in the UK, SUSTRANS and a European cycling network called the North Sea Cycle Route.

Glad you like it. Thanks for stopping by!
That is one gorgeous bridge! Lovely arches :)
It reminds me of the Aqueducts in Lisbon.
I used to love watching the trains go over it, and I used to love being in a train going over it. Now I enjoy walking on it when i'm back in Scotland.
That’s a seriously impressive bridge
The village gets to enjoy its beauty thanks to the snobbery of the landed gentry in the nineteenth century. LOL!
Lol times have changed but snobbery remains
Great shot! Beautiful arches and good contrast! Nice work.
Thanks, and thanks for stopping by! I appreciate it.:-)
Hey :) I nominated you for the sevendaybnwchallenge :) See my post Black and white photo challenge => Day 3 for more information :D
Thanks, but I have already done it twice. :-)
Oh, okay :D :D Thanx for letting me know :D Twice? Nice :P
Yes. I did it twice. LOL!
That is a magnificent viaduct. They always remind me of the Romans for obvious reasons.
Just goes to show that some things are just built right.
Yes, they had some great ideas that stood the test of time!
Nice picture! This reminds me of a bridge in the town I live in. It has a lot of nasty graffiti on it, so this one is quite a bit prettier!
Yes, graffiti is not common in that part of the world. 😊
Viaducts of the world should be a new photo theme! 😁
There you go! I found another one in my files - this time in Poland!
