We're making this post to introduce you to another member of our community as well as to enter the B&W Photo Contest hosted by @daveks!
This is Eden!
Eden is a sweet and healthy 2-3 year old black lab. Former inhabitants of our ecovillage brought her here when she was a sweet little puppy and raised her, but they abandoned her when they left. Unfortunately, that is all too common for us; in fact, every dog or cat that stays on our property is the former pet or child of a pet of an irresponsible owner who begged to bring their "family" to our ecovillage, but thought little of leaving them behind. That's the black cat, Matiko, passing below Eden's chin. 😄
Thankfully, life at the Garden of Eden is probably much better than the alternative for a happy dog like Eden. There is enough space at our property for the two large, active dogs and dozen+ cats that stay here, and Eden spends her days playing in the sunshine, wrestling with her son Atlas, chasing cats, digging, smelling, rolling in dirt, eating, and sleeping. She is a very friendly, very sensitive creature who loves to be around people.

Dogs are only parts of our lives but we are all of our dog's lives :)
That's a sweet statement, but not really sure it applies to Eden. She is quite independent, as she spends all of her time outdoors playing. She loves people, especially when we give her meat, but she is great at entertaining herself as well!

Agreed @paolatoro, labs are really great dogs! And they don't shed, which is sometimes desirable in a pet. Eden is very loving and can be gentle but she also likes to wrestle and play.

Eden is definitely a lovable dog! She's very sweet natured.
Thank you for giving these beautiful animals a home. Eden has such a kind face. I don't understand why some humans do what they do. Honestly, I prefer the company of animals to most humans. We have 3 dogs and 4 cats. All of the cats and two of the dogs were "homeless." So glad they came into our lives!
There are SOOO many homeless dogs and cats, humans too. We feed and shelter as many as we can with our small operation.
She is a very sweet girl, thank you @weq! As Quinn says, we share our home and land with many animals and humans with no home, and we are quite successful for being so small. There are many, many more creatures in the world that need help though. Thanks for taking in a few of them too!
