Great shot.

A teacher of mine said that when you photograph something you care about your love and respect for it has a way of shining through. His point being not to look for "a good photo" but to follow things that have meaning to you.
This picture immediately brought back that memory.
Keep doing what you do!

my equipment is 2 ancient phones - sony and samsung lol. i dont know what kind of camera they have, they are handy for fishing, hiking, and mushrooms hunting, and i really rarely take a photos at such trips.
but i agree with your teacher. i would just add - its not just the case with love, its same with all feelings. fear, anger, happiness - i think it all shines through, no matter the quality

Just like the old timers who never wear gloves either when they do yard work!

its because their skin is harder than gloves i guess >D

Hope i'm kick'n it that hard at 93, great photo!

lol me too! thanks!

Lovely photo. With all the fireworks and so.
He may be old and wise, but I still would wear glasses, noob or not.
I know someone who has lost eye side in one of his eyes.
And mostly the glasses look fantastic ..........not. (I'm a woman b.t.w. ;)

Thanks! He almost lost both eyes and all limbs several times already lol, no point telling him, he would just laugh.

Yeah the older the stubborner lol. Somehow I like that about humans, even if it's not wise. :) Thanks for your reply.

Screw that lol. I worked in a machine shop for 4 years and have had metal shavings bounce off of my face and then ricochet off of the inside of my safety glasses into my eye. No way am I going to gamble with my eyesight. Great pic.
