Railroad track, river crossing trestle, and a BONUS tunnel!
Look down these railroad tracks! There really is light on the other side of the tunnel!
This photo shows one of the straightest railway tracks around here. Not only is it straight, but it is dead-on level for a long stretch. In this photo, you can see a little over 4000 feet (1.2 km) of straight tracks.
There is a tunnel through the mountain, 1100 feet long, just past the railroad trestle, followed by daylight on the other side. (Look hard! You see the tunnel and the light on the other side?)

Railroad tunnels are not very common around here. But when you combine it with an old river crossing bridge trestle, you've got a great photo op. Here is the overhead view taken 4 months prior to my photo of the tracks.

What's next?
Who would like to see the reverse view? It's a lot more difficult to access the other side.
thanks for showing up to promote this post so I could see it! sweet picture
