New social distribution method

We have a new distribution method starting soon which will reward people for being social. Similar to other recent distributions rewards will again be subject to a 12 month vesting period through the use of Smart Contracts.. We expect to launch this within the next one or two weeks.

Over 3 billion people are estimated to use social media, which totally dwarfs the number of cryptocurrency wallets (rough estimates of less than 30 million). The potential is there for this new distribution to greatly grow the Byteball network.

Use-a-Thon Winners

The Byteball Steem Use-a-Thon winners have been announced. Along with news of the winners there is also a short section with some thoughts of the jury members or advice on how to continue after the Use-a-Thon contest.

A big thanks to the four jury members Punqtured, Slackjore, Tarmo888 and Suirelav for the considerable task of assessing entries. For an idea on how difficult this was, try reading the entries (actual entries are the linked blog posts) and think of what feedback you would give the proposal (before looking at the actual feedback given by the jury team). Not so easy!

New grant request

A new grant request has been submitted for building a decentralized voting app on the Byteball platform. As always please submit any feedback in the #grants channel in the Byteball Slack.

Grant approved

The FirstByte grant application has been approved with a 3:1 vote. The project will create development templates for building apps on the Byteball platform. This will make developing on the platform faster and easier, particularly for less-experienced developers.

We should also acknowledge the considerable time and effort D.C. Thompson (who submitted the proposal) put in to answering questions on the #grants channel on Slack. He has been an almost daily presence there for the past 6 weeks, with no guarantee of any reward. When this energy is transferred to development, we are confident FirstByte will prove to be a major asset to the Byteball platform.

Whitepaper translated into Japanese

Our Japanese community has finished the whitepaper translation. A huge thanks to @hiroro @inoue @yuriwo @knskito on the Byteball Slack. Its length and detail has made this a considerable task.

Would you love to see Byteball become a major platform in the crypto world?

Then please give this article some Steem love!

Thank you
