There are no blocks and miners in Byteball. Unlike most cryptokens, Byteball does not use blockchain for its' ledger, but a DAG. DAG is often used in programming, for example, git organizes commits and branches using a DAG.
Some facts about Byteball:
- Byteball allows you to make conditional payments: you specify the conditions after which the payment will be made using smart contracts. If conditions are not met, tokens are returned back to the owner.
- A distinctive feature of Byteball user interface is that all payments and smart contracts can be created and executed using chat bots that are available in Byteball BotStore.
- Byteball tokens are distributed among the BTC and GB holders. The distribution is divided into several rounds. At this moment 7 distribution rounds had commenced.
- Byteball was developed in Russia by Anton Churymov.
Byteball smart contracts could be used for following scenarios:
- prediction markets
- rates and gambling
- insurance (for example, flight cancellation)
