California Evening Surf-July

in #california3 years ago

I haven't been surfing the last couple weeks due to a pretty gnarly ear infection. I also haven't been to the beach much so when my good friend Wyatt said he was going for an evening session I said, "Lets roll." I brought my Canon 70D and Sigma 100-600mm lens with me and snapped some photos.

Lots of technical footwork on display the other evening. The 3 photos below is a set up, hang heels, run back

More experimenting with slow shutter speeds and panning to try and capture the speed of the surfing. Couple hang 10s shown above.

I was so stoked when we were leaving the beach. Once the sun went down I just sat and watched the waves until Wyatt came in. I needed that, it feels weird having not been in the water for this long. Breathing that ocean air was awesome. I was tripping it felt so good just to be there.

Moral of the story. Go to the beach more even if you can't get in the water.
