Normally when my friend and I were on a mission up north to shred. We would get up early to try and make it up there just after the sun is rising, always with the intention to get in early and try to maximize shred time. Most of the time we would end up driving around checking spot after spot not able to decide where we want to go. This day was not like that. We rolled up to the beach first spot and it was macking!
The waves were so good. People were getting barreled left right. Mostly left though, the rights were pretty closed out. The lefts had solid shoulders with makeable barrles.
We spent a couple hours here till the wind got on in. The wind was pretty offshore for most of the session, that usually helps the wave hold open better because the wind is blowing at the face off the wave. Most beach breaks in southern California get blown out and shitty by late morning. We dipped out from this spot to get more waves at a different spot a little further north after this so I could get some waves. These waves were a little to gnarly for me.
Super epic day! Watched a lot of people make barrels and a lot of people not make barrels, haha. I can't wait for more offshore days like these this winter. All photos shot with Canon 70D, Canon 70-300mm lens.
