Unfortunately, programming requires a lot of practice. People hone their skills on musical instruments, tools for drawing or languages for travel, for programming, you have to apply the same dedication and effort. The more you put in, the easier it becomes.
...BUT never think you have mastered a language, environment or library, because some PHD doctorate then comes up with a new idea and the old fad ends and the new begins!
I remember Assembler programming, Then Sequential programming, then Procedural, followed by OO Design and now Visual Development with AI help. I've lived in a golden age, I wonder what you will step into?
Yes! Programming do require a lot of practice, which makes it really fun to me. I am more like working on hardware instead of software. I just take programming as something for fun !
I believe there is still a long way to got for AI development, as currently it seems that we still don't have much solid foundation for AI.
