The security camera was fried during an unfortunate incident when I tried to force the plug into the camera, unbeknownst to me I forced the plug in backwards resulting in the camera frying itself, 12v went into the video out pin, and vice versa
Security camera let out the magic smoke so I disassembled it to keep the security camera housing and bracket due to how compact it is, discarding the scorched board
I pulled the pcb from the usb industrial camera module, pcb was too large so I trimmed it to fit the security camera housing, worked with the original lens but I had to adjust position because the sensor was larger on the industrial module than the original security camera pcb
While I was disassembling the industrial module I noticed the threads looked the same as well so I decided to thread the lens from the module onto the frame of the security camera, it worked but I had to thread it deeper into the frame than the original lens to get the same field of view, I'm ranting a bit so I'll make a tl;dr because I'm not good at articulating what I can visualize and calculate in my head without words
Tl;dr repaired security cam I fried with internals and lens from usb industrial cam module because tolerances were close enough to fit together, use it to take close up photos of electronics I'm working on or use as webcam depending on required use case, pics related.
Also had to build a bracket for the camera so I can clamp it onto monitors or use as stand rather than having to drill new mounting holes in my monitors depending on what angle I need to record footage of a project
I need to find a way to use it with my phone, some way to force android to use an external v4l2 cam rather than the built in camera for up close images.
