Trying Out Our NEMO Dagger 3p Tent

in #camping7 years ago

Over the summer we bought a new tent! We sorely needed a new tent for visiting friends and camping, so we set out one weekend to do just that. A local outfitter store had an awesome event that very weekend with a full tent display of all in-stock tents. It was pretty cool, they set up all of the tents outside for patrons to view and try out. We looked inside them all, asked a lot of questions, and finally settled on one.

We tent we decided on was the NEMO Dagger 3P tent. NEMO is a newer brand of tents and not one we would have thought to look into but after trying it out we were sold!

Here it is in action next to our old tent. Myself and my two young daughters slept in the NEMO and my husband slept in his old tent. Set up was MUCH faster with the NEMO and it was much cooler after an entire day in the hot summer sun than the old one. You can follow this link to see all of the features and get a visual on how it looks with the tarp off.

Another awesome feature was the vestibules. It seemed that every time we used it over the summer it rained (of course). The vestibules let us have a space to place our damp sandals so that they would be safe from the rain but not have to bring them inside the tent. In the photo above we have the vestibules tied up, and it was very easy to zip open the tent and get the vestibules up with one hand.

We can certainly attest to this tent's ability to withstand water. One night a HUGE thunderstorm rolled through. Pouring down rain and strong wind! I'm telling you folks, NOT A SINGLE DROP OF WATER inside the tent! My daughters and I stayed dry all night long... my poor husband on the other hand... not so much, hehe :D

I hope you liked this little tent review! Please leave a comment on your favorite tent, especially family tents- we will be getting a large family tent in a few years time!

Thats awesome! We have a pretty great little Mountain Hardware tent that our family has outgrown. It is time to get a new tent (or two) this summer and hope to do LOTS of camping! Also, you might want to try using the #homesteading tag for posts about camping etc. Good luck!

Thank you for that tip!
