Just Bring It All

And here I always thought guys were light packers.

In a recent camping trip with a few friends, we managed to fully load a Toyota 4Runner, a Yakima Skybox, and a huge duffle bag for just a three-day trip. From chairs, tent, food, buckets, cookware, firearms, fishing rods, it was all there.

Short of the 4Runner with the cargo box and the Eastern Sierras in the background.

Not much room left.

The trip turned out to be a blast. We were definitely well provisioned and it felt like we did nothing but eat and drink. Managed to catch a few trout in a nearby creek. Got some hiking in, checked out the Manzanar Historical site, and offroad a bit.

I'd love to hear more detail about the trip! Maybe some maps, details of the trail and location, why you go out there, is it a new spot for you.. etc etc.

Take care and happy camping!

Nick

one of the best modifications I've done to my 3rd gen 4runner was designing and building a custom storage drawer platform! I absolutely love organized things. I have a drawer for recovery equipment/tools and one for camping/cooking/dry food.
