On October 26, the new 39-member government, led by Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, was sworn in. The event was place in Ottawa Radio Hall in the presence of the Governor General of Canada, Mary Simon. With the exception of Justin Trudeau, 19 of the 36 cabinet nominees are women. Since 2015, Trudeau has stated that he will abolish gender inequity in Canada. The new cabinet reflects his words.
