The debt to income ratio for Canadians: For every $1.00, a $1.67 is owed. This is a massive issue that is being down played. CIBC economist Benjamin Tal, had this to say about the Individual Canadian 'Debt to Income Ratio:
"probably the most useless economic indicator out there."
Wait a second here, the debt to income ratio is a pretty simple way to see how the community of a country is doing collectively...I mean having a large debt is very taxing and dis-empowering in and of itself. Keeping things simple is a great measure of accountability. When things are made to be overly complicated - understanding is difficult, consequently resulting in serious issues of accountability errors in judgement. Abdication of responsibility is not cool.
CIBC economist Benjamin Tal showcases the uselessness of our modern day banking economists when he dismisses "simplicity" as being too costly. Wait what...you mean it's more cost effective to have complicated calculations that most people don't understand. Wait what? isn't that the 'art of deception'?
He says:
"But as we all know, the cost of simplicity is, at times, very high,”
Really?
But don't worry clarity is established with regards to the future direction of Canada's economy when Tal compares the Canadian Economy of today to the USA market collapse in 2008. (Note: The Canada Debt to Income Ratio is 167%)
"For the ratio to fall notably you need a significant shock such as the U.S. financial crisis which led to the U.S. debt-to-income ratio falling from over 160 per cent to 140 per cent,”
Ok perfect, so the strategy for correction is to further shock the average Canadian citizen as 'just a necessary patriotic step to support a draconian way of governance.'
Shockingly Strange Times Indeed.
To Catch all of Tal's Salesmanship for big league Gangster CIBC, See his most recent report: "On the Fallacy of the Debt to Income Ratio" https://economics.cibccm.com/economicsweb/cds?ID=2490&TYPE=EC_PDF
It's fascinating how our News is so much so about the SPIN we put on things. Where's the Bias? What does the spin support? In the case of CIBC Economist Benjamin Tal - His paycheck survival is linked to big league gangster CIBC - so obviously it isn't to blame Benjamin....but this is a glaring example into the illegitimacy of Banking Economists and how their points of view are from the starting point of backing and promoting their employer who is in the business of profiting off the work of the majority of society. Such a travesty of Life - this way of being a Clever Weasel - fighting to survive.
Lets get back to simplicity.
Blockchain is simplicity.

Yes, but surely the real issue is the derivatives market. Once this crashes, all markets crash and no more borrowing.

These figures of authority are supposed to be responsible and trustworthy sources of financial advice. But by playing down the effects of debt and encouraging the population to take on more and more, they are gaining much profit for the bank at the expense of the value of our dollar and a crippling burden of debt. This behaviour will have more and more consequences for the masses as time passes. WTF?! #ulteriormotives #bottomline #thinkforyourself
Agreed.
